Becoming a grandparent can be one of life’s greatest joys, but it can also come with a fair share of challenges. Navigating family dynamics is often complicated and for some Jewish grandparents, there is an added layer of having interfaith or mixed-heritage grandchildren.
For some, this may lead to questions around preserving Jewish identity and traditions, as well as connecting with adult children and their spouses. What happens when your time-honored traditions aren’t automatically passed down? How do you share your Jewish observances when your grandchild is being raised in a home with different beliefs?
We want to help ensure that each individual making up a family feels that they belong, understanding that navigating new spaces can be scary but also fulfilling and meaningful.
Our Federation is honored to partner with Rabbi Ari Saks for a heartfelt conversation made just for grandparents navigating interfaith family dynamics. In this workshop, we’ll explore the Biblical story of Jacob and his grandsons, discovering timeless lessons that can help you bridge gaps, celebrate differences, and strengthen your relationships across generations.
As a graduate of 18Doors’ Rukin Program for rabbinic leaders and cohost of the Interfaithing podcast, Rabbi Saks brings empathy, experience, and actionable strategies to help grandparents create a family culture that feels inclusive, meaningful, and grounded in love.
You don’t have to choose between honoring your roots and embracing your family. You can do both. And this workshop will show you how.
Registration is now open! Join Rabbi Saks for this transformative experience and discover how to navigate the challenges and opportunities of interfaith family life with heart, wisdom, and purpose.
