Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest is currently operating its first cohort of the Fighting Online Antisemitism (FOA)’s flagship program to recognize, remove and eradicate online antisemitism, and cyber hate.
Currently, Federation’s first cohort is participating in FOA’s flagship program, which is designed to equip individuals with the tools to monitor and identify antisemitic content using FOA’s AI-powered system, report and remove harmful posts from social media platforms, and understand and address hate speech through training on the IHRA definition of antisemitism, historical contexts, and legal frameworks.
With 22 community members actively engaged in this 10-session program, the results are already making an impact. As one participant shared, “I really appreciate that I finally feel empowered to do something about online antisemitism.” Another cohort member stressed, “having the tools, know-how and the FOA platform to actually make a difference online will help keep us safer, and I am thrilled to be a part of this!”
Hate speech online is a breeding ground for real-world violence. The FOA program empowers individuals to disrupt the cycle by addressing antisemitism where it begins. Imagine being able to not only recognize hateful content but also take actionable steps to remove it. That’s the kind of change that keeps our community safer.
This program is proudly supported by the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest’s Gloria and Jesse Weissberg Community Security Initiative, which ensures the safety and resilience of our Greater MetroWest Jewish community, including its partner agencies, synagogues and schools.
