Our Roots Run Deep
Greater MetroWest NJ has a long tradition of being a dynamic Jewish community, tracing back to the late 1800s when Jewish immigrants settled in the city of Newark.
Since then, we have expanded, moving west and south, building synagogues, schools, community centers, and camps. Starting businesses. Raising families and making friends.
And, of course, Federation has been there over that time, serving as the hub that connects us all.
Tap into that community, your community, and enhance your life with Jewish experiences that are meaningful to you.

Holidays are a time for celebration, reflection, and Jewish joy.
Purim is a joyous Jewish holiday that celebrates the events described in the Book of Esther. It commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people from a plot to exterminate them in ancient Persia. It is a time of happiness, unity, and gratitude for the survival of the Jewish people, and it emphasizes themes of courage, community, and the reversal of fortunes.
This year Purim will begin at sundown on Thursday, March 13th, and end at nightfall on Friday, March 14th.
