Student to Student

Building Bridges. Combating Antisemitism. Creating Understanding.

Student to Student Teen program at Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ

Student to Student (STS) is a leadership development, classroom-based program for rising 11th and 12th graders that brings Jewish and non-Jewish students together to demystify Judaism through personal storytelling. Jewish teen presenters visit local high schools to share their Jewish practices and experiences, fostering dialogue that breaks down stereotypes, builds bridges between communities, and promotes cultural understanding. By putting a human face to Judaism, STS combats antisemitism and ignorance while empowering young leaders to make a real impact.

During the 2024-2025 school year, STS reached:

  • 497 Jewish teen presenters
  • 137 schools
  • 440 classroom presentations
  • More than 17,000 students nationwide

How It Works

In small groups, trained Jewish teen presenters lead interactive classroom discussions on topics such as:

  • The Jewish life cycle
  • Shabbat and Jewish holidays
  • Dietary practices (kashrut)
  • Hebrew language
  • Antisemitism and the Holocaust
  • Personal connections to Israel

Because these presentations come from peers, they resonate deeply with students, sparking engaging conversations and dispelling misconceptions.
