Looking for a meaningful way to fill those last few weeks of summer? JTEEN is excited to offer 8 hands-on service opportunities for teens in grades 7-12 from August 21 – September 1, 2022. Register below to help support those in need across our Greater MetroWest community!

Packing Food with the Jewish Relief Agency
Sunday, August 21, 10 a.m.–noon
Aidekman Jewish Community Campus, Whippany
Join us to pack and then deliver food boxes to hundreds of people in need in the MetroWest area.

Crafting with Residents at Daughters of Israel
Monday, August 22, 2-3 p.m.
Daughters of Israel, West Orange
Help brighten the day of the residents at Daughters of Israel by playing games and creating sun catchers alongside the residents. Rain date: Wednesday, August 24

Packing School Supplies
Tuesday, August 23
10-11:30 a.m. at Congregation Agudath Israel, Caldwell (FULL)
3-4:30 p.m. at Temple Sinai, Summit
Join the Center for Volunteerism and families with children to pack back-to-school school supplies to be donated to underprivileged students throughout Greater MetroWest.

Urban Farming
Thursday, August 25, 10 a.m.-noon)
Grow it Green, Morristown
Spend the day outside at the urban farm with Grow It Green Morristown, getting your hands dirty picking fruit or vegetables, cutting back vegetation, or weeding.

Volunteering at Lifetown
Sunday, August 28, 10-11:30 a.m.
Lifetown, Livingston
Work with clients at Lifetown to create Shabbat boxes for Jewish hospital patients or participate in open play session

Gardening at JFS Central
Monday, August 29, 10 a.m.-noon
JFS Central, Elizabeth
Harvest fruits and vegetables in the JFS Central community garden to be distributed to clients of the food pantry.

Packing Necessities for Those in Need with Met Council
Wednesday, August 31, 2-3 p.m.
JCC MetroWest, West Orange
Sort and pack toiletries and cleaning supplies to be distributed to multiple food pantries across the MetroWest community.
[20 volunteers needed]

Building with Habitat for Humanity
Thursday, September 1, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Location TBD, Livingston
Help build a house for someone less fortunate – great opportunity for hands-on work. Lunch will be provided.
[15 volunteers needed, must be ages 16+] 

Please note: Attendees of in-person events and programs must be fully vaccinated, including booster for adults (18+) and 2 doses for children ages 5-17, and be able to provide proof of vaccination. Masks are optional. If you are not feeling well, please refrain from attending.
