Jewish Federation and Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest NJ are deeply saddened by the passing of former Board member and long-time donor Phyllis Bernstein who served our Greater MetroWest community with great commitment and passion.
Phyllis was a lifetime member of the Women’s Philanthropy Board, a trustee of Jewish Family Services of Central NJ, a founding member of the Mack Ness Fund, and an active member of Global Connections. She was also a former board member of Jewish Federation and Jewish Community Foundation (including the former Federation of Central NJ), and former president of JCC of Central NJ.
A remarkable lay leader who profoundly impacted many organizations and projects in the Negev, Phyllis was a staunch supporter of economic equality and civil rights for Israeli Arabs, Druze, and Bedouins.
Phyllis will be remembered for her incredible vision, kindness, generosity, and wisdom. She will be missed by the entire Federation and Foundation family, and by
all whose lives she enriched in the Greater MetroWest community in New Jersey and in Israel.
We extend our deepest condolences to her husband, Bob Kuchner.
May her memory be a blessing.
