Israel & Overseas is the Federation department that focuses on strengthening Jewish peoplehood and partnerships between the Greater MetroWest Jewish community, Israel, and Jewish communities around the world.

Israel & Overseas Committee

Israel & Overseas committee connect meaningfully with each partner community (Cherkassy, Arad, Ofakim/Merchavim, Kibbutz Erez, Rishon LeZion, Hurfeish). Meet our partners

Living Bridges Program

Living Bridges program partner with other Federation departments (community engagement and campaign) to integrate encounters with Israel and overseas partner communities into the fabric of Federation’s work, identify target audience for recruitment, and implement post program follow-up stewardship. (Peoplehood, Desert Wolves, Arad Youth Leadership, Amirim/Adath Shalom, Noa L’Olam)

Mishlachat Committee

Mishlachat committee (Hebrew for delegation)  manage and connect our community to Federation’s delegation of Israeli emissaries through meaningful engagement, relationships and support. They prepare for Shlichah and their family’s arrival and welcome them to our Greater MetroWest community. They provide support and assistance to integrate them into the community. They recruit host families for Rishonim and connect host families to the larger community. They identify opportunities for Rishonim to engage with members of the GMW community and organizations. 
Meet our mishlachat

Israel Programming Committee

Israel Programming committee provides local engagement through programming and education, in partnerhip with other departments through Federation. They build coalitions of community synagogues and agencies that support Israel. They create low barrier Israel engagement opportunities to increase the numbers of participants. They help organize the Yom HaZikaron ceremony, the Yom Ha’Atzmaut celebration, and bring our Greater MetroWest community to Israel Day on 5th (parade in NYC).
