About this Synagogue
We are a Chabad synagogue, established in 1913 and transferred from Newark, NJ to Maplewood, NJ in the 1960s. We are located at 421 Boyden Ave., Maplewood, NJ 07040 - just a few minutes walk from the MidTown Direct train to New York City - and we welcome Jews of all backgrounds and levels of observance. Our spiritual leader is Rabbi Yitzy Bogomilsky. Chabad Jewish Family Center is a place where every Jewish person is welcome – regardless of background, affiliation, level of knowledge, or commitment. Our mission is to serve as an active Jewish center where both foreigners (ex-pats) and locals can have the warm feeling of a ‘Home away from Home’. We aspire to create a warm and welcoming environment for every Jewish individual and family, a place to explore and experience our heritage in a non-judgmental and inviting atmosphere through outreach, educational programs, and a range of social services.
