More than 370 Holocaust survivors in our community rely on Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ (JFS MW) and Jewish Family Service of Central NJ (JFS CNJ) for critical care. As they age, their needs continue to grow—many are outliving their resources and require urgent support for medical care, home assistance, mental health services, food, and more. Additionally, an increasing number of survivors from the Former Soviet Union, many with unique and complex needs, are newly identifying within our community, requiring specialized care and support.
As one survivor shared, “I thank you for restoring my faith in humanity and for being very, very special people. You are helping me to cope with the ups and downs of getting old and for my physical and emotional needs. I often think, what would I do without you?”
Through the Holocaust Survivor Fund, Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ provides essential funding to ensure survivors live with dignity and security. Since 2015, we have raised more than $5 million, but with the majority of those funds already utilized, we must raise another $5 million over the next five years to sustain this vital support.
