We just heard the editor, Aluf Benn of Haaretz (a daily paper) speak on critical issues facing Israel. We're now heading to Sha'ar Negev to visit an ORT “smart” high school and then a youth-at-risk program that provides teens with support to empower them to build business skills. Yesterday we visited A Better Place, the electric car developer. The goal is for Israel to eventually get off its dependency on oil and be more eco-friendly. We also visited a MASA permaculture farm in Modiin. MASA offers young adults from the United States and around the world interested in spending six months to a year in Israel more than 200 programs that connect them to Israel and its people and culture.
