Tzelem: A Moving Traditions Group for LGBTQ+ Teens in MetroWest New Jersey

Date: Sunday, March 17
Time: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (EDT)
Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ

Congregation Shomrei Emunah In Montclair, NJ is proud to partner with Moving Traditions to launch a Tzelem group for LGBTQ+ teens. This group is open to 7th – 12th graders across the MetroWest NJ region who identify as LGBTQ+.

The goal of this group is to create a safe space for queer Jewish teens of all genders and sexualities to talk about the issues in their life and explore the intersection of their queer and Jewish identities. The group will be lead by Maxine Yurowitz, an experienced educator.

Tzelem NJ will meet once a month on Sunday afternoons during the school year, beginning in November. Most meetings will be in Montclair, but some will be off site at different locations in our region. Participants are asked to pay $100 to participate, though nobody will be turned away if that is not comfortable for you or your family.

Location, time, and more information will be sent after registration.
