Judaism teaches us to appreciate and protect our natural resources, perform acts of kindness, and commit to repair the world. These moral imperatives come together now more than ever. A lack of climate action will have global implications, however, it will impact African American and Hispanic communities disproportionately. To discuss this challenge and help us respond with action, we’ve invited Ben Jealous, President of the Sierra Club and former president and CEO of the NAACP, to inspire us.
The Kol Tzedek Speakers Series, now in its fourth year, addresses various topics of critical importance to the betterment of our world and how we can move forward with hope and action. The lecturers we consider are acclaimed authorities from their respective fields of specialization and have included Bryan Stevenson, Isabel Wilkerson and Erika Lee. The Hebrew term Kol Tzedek means righteous voice.
