Speaking Up for Those Who Can’t: An Interfaith Gathering Against Sexual Assault

Date: Tuesday, April 9
Time: 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm (EDT)
South Orange*

On October 7 Hamas weaponized sexual assault, unleashing a pattern of rape, mutilation and brutality against women. Those who were raped, tortured or are still being held captive join a sisterhood of tragedy that has unfolded in such war-torn places as Ethiopia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Ukraine. Yet many refuse to believe these assaults against Israeli women happened, despite verified evidence and testimony from survivors.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. To honor the victims of October 7, we will gather as a community, interfaith groups joining together, to give voice to those who were silenced, call for the release of those still being assaulted and begin the work of healing. Led by a diverse group of interfaith leaders, including those from our area and Israel, the event will conclude with concrete ways you can make an impact on behalf of sexual assault victims and survivors.

  • Please do not share Federation events on Facebook Live or any other livestream platform.
