Friendship: Your Most Essential Relationship?

For centuries, friendship was considered cultural not biological, valued but not invaluable. That view has changed as scientists have recognized the critical importance of strong social bonds for well-being and longevity. Friendship is as important for our health as diet and exercise—it is the relational equivalent of superfood. And there have been real evolutionary advantages to being good at making and maintaining friends. The new science of friendship explains its implications for all aspects of our lives from personal time to parenting to professions. Both at home and in the workplace, it clarifies what friendship is, puts quality ahead of quantity, and provides hard evidence for prioritizing this essential relationship.

Join us for a fun and informative evening with speaker Lydia Denworth, author of Friendship: The Evolution, Biology & Extraordinary Power of Life’s Fundamental Bond. Read more about Lydia below!

This eye-opening evening will cover different aspects on the topic of friendship from a human biological need, including: life stages, men vs. women, workplace friendships, marriage, etc. Come learn things you might never have thought about regarding friendships, old and new. Whether you’re bringing a friend and/or connecting with new friends on May 13, we hope to see you there!
