JVS Job Seekers Virtual Workshop: From Job Loss to Your Next Chapter

Navigating a job loss is a skill we can all use. It is rarely taught even though it is almost a universal experience. When we’re suddenly severed from our company, we lose our identity (title, position, power) and our sense of belonging to a community. It can be one of the most traumatic times of our professional lives. Yet, a career disruption is an opportunity to define our value and actively pursue a role that has meaning and purpose and brings you happiness and fulfillment.
In this webinar, guest speaker Robin Merle, author of the book Involuntary Exit will guide participants through the emotional roller coaster of job loss and how to take action to move forward with intention. Even if you’re not in transition now, the practical advice will put you ahead of the game.
In this Webinar you’ll learn how to:
– Understand the stages of grief that come with job loss and separate facts from feelings
– Rewrite your narrative so you can explain what happened and move forward with confidence
– Define your value on your own terms so you are prepared to add value to a new role
– Determine what you want and don’t want in your next role
– Reframe your mindset to open yourself up to new opportunities
– Create an accountability plan to boost your resilience
– Network with realistic goals
– Thrive as you move forward in the face of uncertainty
There will be 20 minutes of open networking with fellow job seekers after the presentation.
