Educator Summer Institute: Deep Listening

Date: Monday, August 19 - Wednesday, August 21
Time: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (EDT)

A Quest for Teaching Excellence SEL Fellowship for faculty working with 5th-12th grades.

For more than 50 years, the prestigious Stanley H. King Institute has offered training in deep listening skills to help teachers strengthen and deepen their relationships with students. Now, for the first time, they will hold their Institute here in Greater MetroWest.

The Institute teaches participants how to listen deeply and to respond in ways that promote learning, meaningful relationships, and responsible behavior. Participants will learn to help students with a range of developmental issues and how to recognize serious psychological difficulty and seek appropriate help.

Fellowship Elements:

  • Three days in person
  • Follow-up virtual sessions
  • Stipend for participants
  • School teams will create an SEL learning experience to initiate in their schools
  • Culminating event in spring 2025 for participants from all four GMW day schools

We are accepting applications on a rolling basis through July or until the program has reached capacity.

Presented by Federation’s Day School Initiative
