Celebrate Israel

Honoring Sacrifice, Celebrating Resilience, Uniting Communities

Israel’s Independence Day is celebrated on the fifth day of the month of Iyar, which is the Hebrew date of the formal establishment of the State of Israel when members of the provisional government read and signed a Declaration of Independence. This year we celebrate Israel’s 76th!

It is a holiday of vibrant events and festivities, preceded by the somber Yom HaZikaron, Israel’s day to memorialize soldiers who have lost their lives in battle and those who’ve been killed in terror attacks.

This year, as the state of Israel and Jewish people worldwide are still reeling from the attacks of October 7 and the subsequent war in Gaza, both of these holidays take on added meaning, in remembering the victims and celebrating our love for the country!

Here in Greater MetroWest, we’re offering a week’s worth of events to bring us all together during this important time including a Yom HaZikaron program led by our rishonim on Sunday, May 12; a Teen BBQ on May 15; a community Yom Ha’Atzmaut Block Party on Sunday, May 19; and so much in between. Plus, register now to join us at the Celebrate Israel Parade in New York City on Sunday, June 2.
