Assistant Teachers

Better World Preschool at Congregation B’nai Israel is a welcoming Jewish preschool, open to families throughout the greater Millburn and Short Hills community. We offer flexible days and hours to meet the needs of children and families, with small class sizes and excellent student-to-teacher ratios that ensure each child receives personalized care, attention, and a strong foundation for growth and learning. Our team is passionate about creating meaningful early learning experiences, and we are looking for a dedicated Teachers Assistant to join our community.

Skills required

Provide loving, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care for toddlers and children.
Create a safe, warm, and stimulating classroom environment.
Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Maintain open and positive communication with families about their child’s progress and daily experiences.
Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, health, and safety policies.
Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to support a positive school culture.

Required qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (required); CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
Previous experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting (preferred).
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Strong communication, patience, and nurturing skills.
Ability to meet the physical demands of caring for young children.

Salary: depends on experience- starting at $19/hr
