Sixty years ago, Jewish people marched and stood alongside other civil rights leaders to witness Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. deliver his historic “I Have a Dream” speech. Our Jewish Federation and Rekindle Fellowship are honored to travel to Washington, D.C. to take part in this momentous anniversary event, which is not a commemoration but a continuation of that landmark moment in the fight against hate and to secure justice and fair treatment for all.
Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ and Rekindle Fellowship will join a coalition of Jewish communal partners in the March led by ADL, as we stand arm in arm to Fight Hate for Good with our allies to continue Dr. King’s legacy. We join with the King family, the Drum Major Institute, the National Action Network, NAACP, NUL, LCCHR, Lawyers Committee, NAACP LDF, NCNW, The National Coalition, Unidos, and AAJC in marching and speaking out for civil rights and against hate. The March Coalition will gather at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, August 26, 2023.
Private bus transportation to and from Washington, D.C. will be provided.
We recognize that this march takes place on Shabbat. For those who are Shabbat observant, we are developing plans to help facilitate your ability to participate and will share those details soon. Please indicate your interest in Shabbat accommodations on the registration form.
