It's been a fascinating and inspiring couple of days so far on the ICE (Israel Center Engagement) mission. We've already seen so much, and learned so much. But there's so much more to see and learn. You can't even begin to scratch the surface of what we do in Israel.

The wrong question

I’ve spent a lot of time these past few months out in meetings – with rabbis, professional and lay leaders in our community, andvolunteers. If we haven’t met yet, let’s hope it’s because we’re in such a large community that I’m getting there.


How many event speakers have you seen who tear up their honorarium checks as they speak? Not many, I’m guessing.


It’s been almost a year since pro-Russian separatists began battling Ukrainian forces in the eastern part of the country. Over 5,000 civilians have died and 12,000 others have been wounded. Thousands of Jews have been swept up in the political and military conflict.
