I’d like to invite you to a town hall meeting, but this one you can do from the comfort of your own home.
The Tele-town Hall Meeting is like a radio call-in format. It’s going to take place on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 7:30 p.m. The topic is “France and the Rise of Global Anti-Semitism,” a timely issue. You’ll be able to call in and ask live questions.
Our UJA Campaign Chair, Maxine Murnick, will be calling to invite you to take part in this important conversation via a robocall. On the night of the event, all you have to do is simply answer the phone. That’s it.
Our guest speaker is Dr. Misha Galperin of the Jewish Agency for Israel, one of our partner organizations working with us around the world. Misha will speak about the crisis facing French Jewry, the continuing rise of anti-Semitism, and the Jan. 9 attack on a Paris kosher supermarket. He’ll discuss the future of Jews in France, and how the global Jewish community is responding to the situation. Not only are questions encouraged, you’ll have the opportunity to pose them directly to him. Maxine will just have returned from a Federation solidarity mission to France too, so she’ll also be answering questions.
If you care about the situation in France (and Europe in general), this is your chance. It’s your chance as a member of our community to find out more, to ask the questions, to understand what’s happening.
I hope you’ll join me.
