For decades, our incredible partnership has served the global Jewish people, touching countless Jewish lives worldwide and making a lasting impact. This held true throughout 2023, but our work together was never more pivotal than in the aftermath of Hamas’s brutal attacks on Israel.
For nearly 95 years, The Jewish Agency for Israel has been serving the Jewish people worldwide and meeting their ever-changing needs. With a presence on the ground in 65+ countries, we have always been and continue to be ready to respond to any crises that may occur anywhere in the world and ensure the safety and security of our global Jewish family.
Yet no one could be prepared for Hamas’s savage attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Nonetheless, with your help, within hours of this horrific event, we were able to mobilize and evacuate new immigrants to Israel and elderly citizens in our senior living facilities. By the next day, we had mobilized our staff to comfort victims of terror and began what has been a comprehensive effort to help Israelis and Jews around the world begin to recover. These efforts, which have reached a historic new scale, were only possible thanks to your steadfast support.
Our 2023 Impact Report, which I am proud to share with you, highlights our shared work post-October 7 and how we have been there for the many Israelis impacted. It also features our essential operations around the world in our three areas of impact: Aliyah, connecting Jews worldwide to Israel and to each other, and strengthening Israeli society. Through this interactive digital report experience, you’ll see our vital activities brought to life through powerful photos and videos, moving testimonials and impressive numbers.
Also included with our report is a brief summary illustrating the remarkable impact of the generous unrestricted funds that North American Jewish Federations raised and allocated to The Jewish Agency. We could not do any of our work without you, our most cherished partners. All of our achievements and efforts were because of your financial support and community leadership. We are grateful for your ongoing collaboration, especially during this dark time in Jewish history.
