We invite you to watch The Passengers, a moving documentary about Ethiopian Jews left behind, and then join us for a Zoom discussion. We will be joined by the film’s producer, Ryan Porush; Micha Feldmann, Director of Selah's Ethiopian Jewry program, who has devoted his life to bringing Ethiopian Jews to Israel and helping them adjust and integrate into Israeli society; and Gezahegn "Gezi" Derebe, one of the Ethiopian men featured in the documentary.

In Ethiopia, there is a community of more than 9,000 Jews who are still awaiting Aliyah, dreaming of one day becoming citizens of Israel. They speak Hebrew, keep kosher, and have relatives in Israel.

The Passengers follows the amazing journey of two young Ethiopian Jews. They travel to America to join forces with prominent American Jewish leaders in hopes of persuading the Israeli government to bring their abandoned community home to Israel.
