Mitzvah of the Moment: Pajama Collection

Mitzvah of the Moment: Pajama Collection

Join us as we help local children in need stay warm and cozy at bedtime this winter!

Here’s how it works:

    1. Fill a gift bag with the following new and unused items:
      • 1 pair of children’s pajamas (sizes can include newborn through children’s XL)
      • 1 bedtime storybook (age appropriate according to the pajamas you are providing — not a PJ Library book, since these packages are going to primarily non-Jewish children)
      • any bedtime routine extras such as toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, etc.
Based on our research, items in each package could cost approximately $20 to put together.
    2. Include an uplifting greeting card or create a fun and colorful bookmark to include in your package.
    3. Please label the giftbag with the size pajamas you have included.
    4. Drop off your completed packages between December 2-9 at a location convenient to you. Drop-off locations will be in Chester, Livingston, Randolph, Roseland, Montclair, Morristown, Scotch Plains, Short Hills, South Orange, Springfield, Summit, and Westfield.
    5. Pajama packages will be distributed to children and families in need throughout Greater MetroWest.
    6. Take a photo of your family making or delivering packages and post it to the PJ Library Facebook page with the hashtags #mitzvahofthemoment and #IamGMW.

And for those who are Zooming in to our Hanukkah PJ Party with a Purpose on Thursday, December 2, this is the perfect opportunity to engage the kids in a meaningful mitzvah while they enjoy singing and dancing along with Grammy-winning musician Joanie Leeds.
