Marlene Warshawski Yahalom, PhD, is responsible for educational outreach and programs, professional development, teacher training and traveling exhibitions to raise the public’s awareness of the lessons of the Holocaust. She also serves on the Education Advisory Board of the Rose and Sigmund Strochlitz Holocaust Resource Center. Dr. Yahalom is the child and grandchild of Holocaust survivors.
Keynote Speaker Marlene W. Yahalom, PhD, Director of Education of the American Society for Yad Vashem, will present a virtual exhibit including images of original maps, drawings, photographs of the planning stages of Auschwitz, and the original architectural blueprints of Auschwitz-Birkenau. The plans were found in 2008 in an abandoned apartment in Berlin and were eventually given to Yad Vashem, where they will be preserved for perpetuity.

The Holocaust memorial ceremony is organized jointly by the United Nations Department of Global Communications and UNESCO, in partnership with the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.
