As Secretary General of the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), Josh serves as liaison between his organization and the Knesset. In this conversation he will discuss how our partners on the ground are working to ensure that there’s no disruption to the programs and services that ordinary Israelis rely upon.

Josh Schwarcz, Secretary General
A graduate of Columbia University in New York, Josh Schwarcz serves as the Secretary General of the Jewish Agency for Israel, the world’s largest Jewish NGO. As Secretary General he serves as the Secretary of the Agency and its governing bodies and is also responsible for the organization’s Government and External Relations.
He is also the Chair of the Board of Masa, the flagship program of the Government of Israel and the Jewish Agency to bring 12,000 young people to Israel each year for a long-term immersive experience.
He is the founding Director of the Jewish Agency’s Security Fund for Jewish Communities and the Director of the Government of Israel’s Forum for Emergency Assistance to Jewish Communities.
In a volunteer capacity, he currently serves on the board of the Israel Museum where he is chair of the Marketing Committee. He is also a member of the boards of Amigour Public Housing; Birthright Israel and Ofek Israel – Aliyah Promotion Company.
Mr. Schwarcz was born in Canada and made Aliyah at the age of 20. He served as a reserve officer in the I.D.F.
