You are invited to join us for Dr. Susan Neigher’s virtual presentation Human Trafficking 101
on Thursday, May 16th from 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm.
Dr. Neigher will not only raise our awareness of the prevalence of human trafficking and impact it has on the victims, but also help identify ways we as a community can combat human trafficking.
In 2021, the New Jersey Human Trafficking Hotline identified 466 victims in 151 cases. These were situations involving sex trafficking, labor trafficking, both sex and labor trafficking as well as situations where the type of trafficking was unknown or not identified. And these were only the cases that were reported!
Human Trafficking 101 is part of Temple Sholom’s Sichot committee’s monthly discussions about current social issues which impact our community. Stay tuned for more information about our June 20th presentation on ‘Achieving Social Justice Through Nonviolent Strategies’.’
Susan Neigher, Ph.D., has developed programs to combat prejudice, to promote inter-group relations in communities, and to help refugees resettle successfully in the United States. In recognition of this work, she has been awarded the Hannah G. Solomon Award by the National Council of Jewish Women. Dr. Neigher is a founding member of the New Jersey Coalition Against Human Trafficking and serves as Vice President of the Board of Trustees.
