Join us for a community dinner and Pride Shabbat on Friday, June 16. We will be joined by special guest Speaker, American civil rights activist, Steven Goldstein. Steven has played a role in the passage of more than 200 civil rights laws as the executive director of state and national social justice organizations and as a senior staff member in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate. He is best known here in New Jersey as the founder of Garden State Equality, where his successful fight to win marriage equality was the subject of an Academy Award-winning documentary and a Hollywood movie in which he was played by the actor Steve Carell. Steven is a graduate of Brandeis, Harvard Kennedy School, Columbia Journalism School, Columbia Law School, and the Academy for Jewish Religion, and is currently a rabbinical student at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.
