With democracy on our minds, J-Films presents one of the best satires of the 21st Century, a mostly-true story of dictatorship run amok. In March of 1953, Joseph Stalin’s brutal reign over the Soviet Union ends with his sudden death. His underlings hilariously scramble over each other for advancement in the power vacuum. With a standout cast featuring Steve Buscemi, Jeffrey Tambor, and Michael Palin, and directed and co-written by Armando Iannucci (Veep, The Thick of It), The Death of Stalin captures the absurdity and terror of totalitarianism with lots of caustic humor.
