October 7th – From Tragedy to Triumph
A Personal Account of Combat in Gaza and Lebanon
The Union Country Torah Center-Chabad invites the community to attend an exclusive presentation, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 7:30 PM at the center, 111 Laurel Place, Westfield NJ with Yigal Dilmoni, IDF captain in the military reserves and paratrooper brigade commander.
On Simchat Torah, October 7th, the citizens of the State of Israel faced a surprise mega terrorist attack from Gaza. In the midst of holiday prayers and celebrations, hundreds of thousands of reservist combat troops were called up to join their units for battle.
Yigal served in the IDF for seven months in both Gaza and Lebanon and will share some of his experiences from the front lines and, as a father of five, he will share how his wife and children managed during this long period of time. Yigal will also speak about IDF tactics, surprising the enemy, special ops, distribution of humanitarian aid while under fire as he addresses the bigger picture: the connections between the war, Jewish education, and biblical sites in Israel.
Yigal Dilmoni is the former CEO of the Yesha Council, and co-founder and board member of American Friends of Judea and Samaria (AFJS). His speaking engagements are in conjunction with AFJS.
Open to the public free of charge but RSVP required by January 7.
