Join Congregation Beth Israel of Scotch Plains for an eye-opening weekend (February 28th-March 1st) with two of Judaism’s modern trailblazers, one of the first female and one of the first trans clergy members, as they share their stories and their music, their challenges and triumphs, helping us find our own voices along the way.
The weekend will feature a Shabbat Dinner and Friday Night Services where Cantor Susan Mandell will speak, Saturday Morning Services where Cantor Kalix Jacobson will speak and Shabbat Kiddush followed by a Panel Discussion with both Cantors. Cantors Mandell and Jacobson will co-lead both services. The weekend concludes with a special concert on Saturday night where we will also welcome special guests, Rabbi Cantor Vicki Axe and pianist Dave Schlossberg. All programs will be available, upon request, through livestream and archived recordings.
