“Tattooed for Life” (30 mins, Hebrew with English subtitles)
Liraz Uliel survived the massacre at the Nova festival on October 7, but lost her partner and many close friends. She created a special tattoo design to immortalize them and others lost at Nova. Israelis grappling with loss on October 7 come to Liraz’s shop and share their stories while joining Liraz’s network of memory.
“The Boy” (25 mins, Hebrew with English subtitles)
Barak, a troubled young man, lives on a kibbutz bordering Gaza and struggles with the stress of daily bombardment by Hamas (before October 7). His father stretches the limits of his own understanding to care for Barak. This film is the final work by Yahav Winner, who was murdered on October 7 while enabling his wife (filmmaker Shaylee Atary) to escape with their newborn daughter.
“Ye’arim: A Temporary Home” (23 mins, Hebrew with English subtitles)
Following the October 7 massacre, Moshav Netiv HaAsara and Kibbutz Zikim residents were evacuated to the Yearim Hotel in the Jerusalem hills. This film profiles survivors, staff, and volunteers as all attempt to process their experiences and find a way forward.
Viewer discretion advised: while these three short films do not include graphic footage, they are all about the trauma of October 7. These films are not rated.
We will have a speaker following the short film screenings.
