Date: Thursday, November 18
Time: 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm (EST)

Kristallnacht & Veterans Day Commemoration
With Introduction by the Gottesman Family

Shortly before his passing in August 2020, our own Bob Max z”l, an American hero and survivor of the Nazi slave labor camps in World War II, recorded his harrowing story for a documentary produced by the nonprofit Backpacks for Life. This organization provides unique and personalized support to homeless and at-risk veterans struggling to reintegrate into civilian life.

Register for this program and you will receive an exclusive link to view the documentary, The Long March Home: An American Soldier’s Life as a Nazi Slave Laborer. Then join us for a webinar where we’ll hear from a panel discussing the trauma of the soldier’s experience – then and now. Panelists include the film’s director Greg Parker, WWII veteran Henry Bassman, Jewish Historical Society Director Linda Forgosh, and Backpacks for Life Founder and President Sgt. Brett D’Alessandro. You’ll also hear a tribute to Bob by his family and friends.

Registration is now closed. Be among the first to learn about future events and programs like this — click below to let us know what piques your interest and we’ll keep you posted on what’s most important to you.
