Annual Newark Cemetery Visiting Day

Date: Sunday, September 12
Time: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm (EDT)

As it is traditional to visit the gravesites of loved ones during the high holidays, Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ, together with the Essex County Sheriff’s Department, provides additional security so all can feel comfortable visiting the following historic Jewish cemeteries of Newark during the Annual Newark Cemetery Visiting Day:

  • Grove Street Cemetery
  • Talmud Torah Cemetery
  • Union Field and B’nai Abraham Cemeteries
  • McClellan Street Cemeteries

Visit the graves of loved ones, pay respects to founders of our Greater MetroWest community, experience first-hand how Federation, the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest NJ (JCF) and Beth El Memorial Park Foundation have revitalized these cemeteries, and learn about ways to get involved.

Masks and social distancing will be required. Registration for visiting day is not required but is appreciated.
