In cooperation with the Community Relations Committee (CRC) of Greater MetroWest and the Iris Family Foundation, we have created a program to deepen our community’s understanding of current events, the geo-political issues facing Israel and the Middle East, and the importance of lobbying to advance the U.S.-Israel relationship. This is an opportunity to bring students and parents together to learn as a family about Israel’s history and current challenges, and to prepare students to speak out with greater confidence when they get to the college campus.

Who is eligible to apply:

Students in 9th through 12th grade are eligible to join the parent/teen cohort and receive a subsidy of $599 to cover the registration fee.

Students do not have to be first-time Policy Conference attendees in order to qualify for the subsidy.

Parents and students are required to attend a pre-policy conference meeting at Jewish Federation in Whippany on Sunday, March 12, 2017. There you will meet with Dr. Tuvia Book, an Israel educator who will address topics related to modern Israel, as well as students engaged in pro-Israel advocacy on their college campuses and AIPAC representatives. Parents and students must also attend a post PC debriefing at Federation on Sunday, April 2.

Students will be required to write an article or opinion piece about their experience at Policy Conference, to be submitted to the NJ Jewish News spring supplement for high schools.

Application Deadline: February 3, 2017

Please note that we will accept a maximum of 20 parent/student pairs on a first-come, first-serve basis. We urge you to sign up quickly in order to take advantage of this incredible offer. This offer is also open to students who’ve attended policy conference before. Families need to register with AIPAC online (see attached registration form) and register separately with Jewish Federation (registration form also attached.) Once you’re a confirmed participant we will mail you a check to cover student’s registration fee, as well as additional information.
