Making Day School Financially Accessible

Our community is at the forefront of affordability efforts by capping tuition to help families “squeezed” in the middle—those who would not qualify for traditional scholarships, but for whom the cost of tuition is still a great burden.

The Tuition MAX program sets a ceiling based on a percentage of income as the maximum amount that eligible middle-income families pay, no matter how many children attend the school. No qualified family will ever pay more than 18% of their income for tuition, usually less. This grant is generously funded by the Gottesman Family Supporting Foundation of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest. Watch for our Tuition Estimator coming soon.

The Greater MetroWest Day School Initiative will award grants of $1,800 to each family making the Smart Move to Greater MetroWest NJ from outside the area who has registered their child(ren) at a Greater MetroWest NJ Jewish Day School.

To qualify, a family must:

  • Move to the area between September 1, 2023 and September 1, 2024. If a family has a child entering Kindergarten only, they may have moved between the dates of July 1, 2021 and September 1, 2024.
  • Register at one of our Jewish Day Schools beginning September 2024.
  • Meet all the requirements of school registration. This grant is awarded through a reduction in tuition fees, after tuition has been adjusted by the school for any scholarship and middle-income grants, including our Tuition MAX (information coming soon).
  • The Smart Move $1,800 Grant is available to families who are enrolling children K to 12 (or the year before 1st grade by another name).

Each application will be time-stamped, and will be awarded on a first come first served basis. Awards are pending confirmation of move-in date and registration with the school in September 2024. Awards will be granted and reduced from the cost of tuition in or around October 2024.
