Meaningful Ways to Mark MLK Day 2022

“Everybody can be great… because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” ― Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

For the last half century, Americans have honored the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by making his birthday a day of service. And for the Jewish community, this is a day to pay special attention to our Jewish values of tzedakah and tikkun olam – repairing the world.

We have compiled this collection of resources — including suggested readings, conversation starters, programs, and volunteer opportunities across the community – to help you and your family mark this important day in a meaningful way.
