What You Need to Know

  • NJ residents will vote in the general election on Tuesday, November 5.
  • You can check to see if you’re a registered voter at https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/registration-check.
  • If you’re not a registered voter, you can register online at  https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/register. There’s also an option to request a voter registration form from the NJ Department of Elections and register by mail. The deadline to register for the upcoming general election is Tuesday, October 15. 
  • Any voter may apply for vote-by-mail by completing the Application for Vote-By-Mail Ballot and returning the application to their County Clerk.

  • In-person early voting from Saturday, October 26 – Sunday, November 3. “No matter where you live in the county, you can vote your specific ballot at any of your county’s designated in-person early voting locations. Find your county’s locations at VOTE.NJ.GOV.”

How to Vote in New Jersey

Vote in person on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5
Polls will be open from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Find your polling place here. (Voting machines will be available as an ADA accommodation for people with disabilities.)

Vote by mail
Once you receive your vote-by-mail (VBM) ballot, read the instructions carefully, fill out (and sign) the ballot, and mail it back through the US Postal Service. Ballots must be postmarked by November 5, 2024, and will be counted if received by November 11, 2024. Return your VBM ballot using one of the methods below:
