We are a diverse community comprised of people of all Jewish backgrounds, interfaith families, singles, and all spiritual seekers. Everyone is welcome.
Temple Emanu-El is a Reform congregation whose members reside throughout Union County and beyond. From its beginnings in 1950, Temple Emanu-El has sought to combine progressive Jewish ideals with a continuing respect and appreciation for the timeless traditions of Judaism. Our worship is joyful, participatory, and inclusive. Our Shabbat services, Friday evenings and Saturday mornings, provide a diversity of worship experiences, from Shabbat Hallelu to Zimrat Shabbat, from Simchat Shabbat to traditional egalitarian services. We invite you to experience the wonderful place that is Temple Emanu-El. Our doors are always open to those seeking a spiritual home.
Our mission emphasizes Jewish tradition, education, youth, Israel, and social justice. We are a tight-knit caring community of about 1100 families. Our active groups within the Temple community include Men’s Club, Sisterhood, Adult Choir, Youth Groups, Social Action Committee, and more. We have a Caring Community Committee that provides meals, visits, and comforting companionship to all those in need. Our Early Childhood Education Center and Religious School are recognized for excellence in innovative programming. Our Adult Learning programs provide exceptional experience in continuing education for learners of all levels and backgrounds.
