Congregation B’nai Israel is one community—an egalitarian, Conservative synagogue in the Somerset Hills. We bring together Jews from all walks of life to pray, work, and socialize in a warm and inviting atmosphere that exudes vibrancy and enthusiasm for learning and sharing. CBI provides for all life cycle events, and offers weekly Shabbat services, all holiday services, Sunday morning minyan, a multifaceted Religious School where children garner much more than only preparation for B’nai Mitzvah, and an excellent preschool open to the wider community for the littlest among us. We encourage active and ongoing participation in services among all our families.  Governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees, CBI works through committees, and conducts enrichment programs for our children and adult education for the grown-ups, everything from music concerts to Torah study and Hebrew 101. We also have active social organizations such as Sisterhood and CBI Boomers & Beyond for adults whose children are through B’nai Mitzvah age. We are committed to tikkun olam through tzedakah, social action, and acts of loving kindness. CBI is one community—welcoming all who come to join us.
