We are a diverse, welcoming community always looking to improve and better serve our members. Some liken us to an urban synagogue in a suburban setting.  We are looking for the right person to bring their special skills to our team to help us build sacred community, engage members, and grow!

The Manager of Membership Engagement & Development will work with our Senior Staff, Board, and lay leaders to help strengthen our commitment to relational Judaism and our laser focus on people in all that we do.   They will help engage our members in programs, constituent groups, volunteer activities and philanthropic giving in ways that are meaningful to them and our community.  The Manager will use their exemplary relationship-building skills to connect to our Temple community and foster and grow member engagement. They will serve as a social connector to our members.  This new, full-time position includes occasional evening and weekend responsibilities and works in collaboration with and reports to the Executive Director.

Member Engagement Management

  • In collaboration with our Engagement Committee, develop and implement strategies to identify and recruit prospective members, onboard new members, and meaningfully engage and retain members.
  • Manage our Contact Relationship Management system.

Programming

  • Develop meaningful programming and engagement opportunities for member cohorts with similar interests, personal needs, or life stages to connect and build meaningful relationships with one another and to our community
  • In collaboration with our Engagement Committee and constituent groups, develop new strategies and experimental programs for member engagement
  • Champion the program planning processes to ensure that all programs new and existing have: measurable goals, target specific populations, clear staff and volunteer responsibilities, logistics oversight, communications and promotion, and assessment

Donor Relationship Management

  • In collaboration with our Giving & Philanthropy Committee, develop and implement strategies to identify and cultivate prospective donors, engage and steward donors in ways meaningful and appropriate to them, acknowledge and honor donors in an appropriate and timely manner, and retain donors
  • Utilize Contact Relationship Management system to track, analyze and report on donor relationships
  • Draft correspondence to acknowledge pledges and gifts
  • In collaboration with Senior Staff, identify opportunities for program and needs-specific funding, help identify potential grant sources to meet those needs

    • Are proficient with contact relationship management systems (e.g., ShalomCloud, Salesforce), the complete Microsoft Office suite, calendar management systems,  Email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, ConstantContact) , and experience with social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram)
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Degrees: College degree preferred; experience essential. Must be familiar with synagogue life.

Salary: $60,000 – $70,000
