Job Title: Strategic Communications Manager
Department: Impact Department
Reports to: Director of Marketing
Full Time: Virtually for the foreseeable future

The Strategic Communications Manager is responsible for the strategic communications oversight of the Centennial Campaign. This includes the development and execution of a communications strategy for multiple audiences, managing the development of marketing materials for donors and events, collaboration with events’ lead to develop event strategy and marketing materials, and overall project management.


Marketing and Strategic Communications - (60%)

  • Develop and execute communications strategy and timeline of outreach and events
  • Aid in the development of editorial direction, content, design, production and distribution of all marketing collateral including advertisements, brochures, and other publications as appropriate
  • Communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with internal colleagues across Federation’s departments on all relevant marketing products to ensure articulation of marketing objectives and unified messaging in support of key priorities for the Centennial Campaign
  • Write, edit, coordinate, and advise on announcements and messaging for external stakeholders/donors
  • Develop copy for marketing materials, website, and donor and events materials as needed
  • Collaborate with internal Marketing teams on social and PR strategy

Project Management - (20%)

  • Liaise, collaborate, and coordinate with internal stakeholders across departments, and Centennial Lay Leadership, on all relevant communications efforts, to include Centennial Campaign events
  • Manage the development of all campaign materials for donors and events in collaboration with design
  • Project management and internal communication with fundraising and community engagement teams to ensure campaign is on target
  • Aid in the management and measurement of the effectiveness of contractual relationships in areas such as web development, content creation, graphic design, and online marketing

Planning and Budgeting - (10%)

  • Aid in the development and management of strategic planning efforts, financial and budget-related goals, and evaluation systems
  • Develop and assess measurable marketing goals and objectives that advance the strategic mission of the Centennial Campaign
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate performance of short- and long-term policies and plans for the marketing/communications/public relations of the Centennial Campaign and Federation
  • Identify and engage in appropriate staff development opportunities

Administration and Reporting - (10%)

  • Plan and run internal Centennial committee meetings

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Expertise in project management
  • Experience in digital marketing including planning campaigns, message development, analyzing metrics, and identifying trends
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Development database experience is preferred
  • Proven track record of success
  • Motivated, well organized, and a creative problem solver
