Development Associate
JVS is a growing organization that is seeking full-time Development Associate to join our team. Under the direct supervision of the Chief Development Officer, this new position will support the programs and activities that secure funding from individuals, corporations, foundations and government sources, including donor solicitations, special events, grant proposal development and reporting, community engagement, communications, and other program specific fundraising efforts. Our success in these areas has allowed us to increase our opportunities and offerings to our diverse client populations. Essential functions:
- Fundraising
- Process donations and prepare timely acknowledgement letters and other correspondence
- Maintain foundation, corporation, and individual donor files databases
- Conduct prospect research on potential individual, corporate, foundation, and government grant opportunities
- Assist with creating campaigns, exports, and mailing list preparations in database management system, including coordinating production and mailing of spring and year-end appeal letters
- Work with CDO to prepare monthly development reports to Finance Department and other reports as needed
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals
- Events
- Maintain guest lists, gather, and prepare registration materials and other duties as assigned for events, including but not limited to the Spring Taste & Toast Gala
- Oversee the production of the event-related material including invitations, digital ad journal, thank you notes
- Assist with pre-event logistics and onsite event management
- Communications
- Prepare media releases
- Develop content and write email blasts to build awareness of JVS services to the community
- Work with the CDO and other JVS departments to build relationships with community groups and faith-based organizations
- Coordinate social media efforts with outside consultant
- Assist with the development of impact-related, marketing and other program-related materials to ensure they reflect JVS branding and mission
- Other Administrative
- Performs other duties consistent with program needs and not calling for materially different skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and database management systems
- Demonstrated proficiency in various media contents and social media
- Self-motivated, self-directed, able to make good judgements, reliable, dependable
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check
